Under the direction of Diego Rivera, Director of Jazz Studies at the University of Texas at Austin, the Austin Youth Jazz Orchestra (AYJO) showcases some of the most talented young jazz musicians in Central Texas. Rooted in the rich traditions of Swing, the Blues, and Jazz culture, AYJO offers students dynamic performance opportunities, mentorship from leading artists, and a vibrant community dedicated to musical excellence.
